"FanDuel bets big on Gronk in first Super Bowl spot"

I decided to pick this article because Rob Gronkowski also known as "Gronk" is a funny dude, and I wanted to do something that had to do with sports. This article is about FanDuel which is a sports betting app, and they partnered up with Gronk to make a live commercial during the Super Bowl, of Gronk attempting to kick a 25 yard field goal. If Gronk makes the kick, FanDuel is going to reward any person that used FanDuel to bet on the Super Bowl will receive a cash prize, and plan on giving away 10 million dollars. Some of the main points from this article is that they are giving away a shared amount of 10 million dollars to any person to bet on the Super Bowl through FanDuel. Another main point from this article is that FanDuel is doing a live commercial for the Super Bowl. They are giving away 10 million dollars if Gronk makes the kick and is going to pay 7 million dollars to air their ad for the Super Bowl. Finally the last main point is to advertise the FanDuel sports betting app. Sports betting is growing faster and faster throughout the country. It is now legal in 32 states and there are multiple different sports betting apps.

The company of FanDuel is not unique in any way, because there are many apps for sports betting, but they want to have people use their app by giving away money to people that bet on the Super Bowl. What is unique about FanDuel is how they are going to advertise their brand, they are using former Super Bowl champion and will eventually be in the Hall of Fame Rob Gronkowski. Everyone that watches football knows that Gronk is a character, he is a really funny guy. I believe that this will draw in a lot of betters and even some people that don't bet that often.

I thought that their way of marketing their app and brand is smart by using Rob Gronkowski, because it is gonna draw in a lot of people, but I think their idea of giving away over 10 million dollars is not ideal. If this were me and it was my decision, I probably wouldn't be handing out that much money, the most I would do would probably be like 2 million. Just for this ad to work, they are basically giving away 17 million dollars. Something that I learned from this article is that marketing your brand and trying to get people to use your products is expensive.
